About

Back to basics

I love blogging and sharing creative content yet keeping up a high standard on your output and blogging to a fully (semi) professional capacity is very time consuming. Time that I currently don't have and so I have decided its time to down size my creative project and go back to basics.

Just before I moved to London I started a blog to document my new and exciting life abroad. It was fun (a lot less blogs back in those days) and I could blog whenever I liked and had time for it without much thought on the business side of things like (the pressure of) becoming an influencer for example.

Five years later I still feel the same. I would much rather have a small blog to start with (and if it grows it grows) rather than putting pressure on myself to create content in a certain style that I have yet to discover for myself.

Most importantly I'm still blogging for myself. I love to have and capture these unique moments of my life living abroad when everything is new and exciting. If it is helpful to any of you thats great!

Since the day I started that first blog I have not only have a gotten a means of expressing my creativity but found myself a hobby thats exciting and possibly even stumbled upon a whole new career path for the future. Oh boy is there a lot to learn! Html and coding, writing, editing, photography, marketing, social media, brand collaborations, building a brand and the list goes on together with keeping the threads organized behind the scenes and scouting locations, having a personal photographer together with hiring an assistant (if i was meant to do this full-time).

I have decided to focus my efforts elsewhere and for now blogging remains just a hobby.

I'm so glad I have found a blogging platform that works for me and i'll be sharing more of my everyday life from now on over at nouw. Once that site is all ready to go I'll come back and link it for you in case you would like to follow my journey there.

Thanks for reading!

Sundays

TODAY I have been craving coffee like no other..
How luxurious to have coffee machine at home. Maybe an investment I need to be make in the future.

I appreciate sundays now more than before. I remember when I was younger and always thought sunday was the most boring day of the week. Lately I have been enjoying my sunday "routine" and find sundays so enjoyable. It's quickly becoming my favorite weekday (who knew that would happen!)

What's changed is that I get up earlier on sundays instead of sleeping in/cosying until midday meaning that the day just gets longer and better! I try (emphasize on trying) to include more downtown in my evenings with either a movie or a book and spending a quick half an hour getting ready for the week ahead before chilling. This way the week ahead can get a good start.

My favorite sunday to dos include: brunch (the best sunday tradition!), wearing comfy outfits to lounge around or even better to take a sightseeing tour around my city and catching up with friends

hair dreams

When my blond strands really suffered from change of environment, the water and lifestyle I decided to go brunette. I had lovely long chocolate brown wavy hair when I first moved to London so going back to brunette was not a life altering decision. Besides my hair looked way healthier in brown than it ever did in blond (see here) during this period.

But now, guess what! I'm ready to go back to blond. Knowing the work it will take to look after blond highlighted hair I can't wait to have glossy, long and highlighted hair #callmecrazy

I don't expect the transition to be instant, in fact I quite like my brunette strands and I'm looking forward to how my hair will look way fresher after a salon visit to get my roots done and maybe clopping a bit off to regenerate new growth. I'm really excited about adding highlights this time (but a bit nervous to see if it will turn out like I want to it be).

For now:

This is the look I'm going for. Blond and caramel highlights

And later:

Highlights and super long hair - bring it on!

Tired but happy

Here's a flower for you :)

IM BACK! And have I missed not being able to blog! Literally not being able to.

My mac is my life (i have now discovered during the time we spent apart) and when it contains your blog (together with all the photos, notes and everything you want to blog about) any other arrangement is just not good enough. So you can only imagine my newly found happiness (well and because of a couple of other things too, see the list below) when everything is back to normal.

I mean having my own computer back opens up whole new horizons for me and the prospects of working from cool cafes around Brussels - ah I can just smell the shimmering air (insert star emoji) and to take you with me abroad and the prospects of the exploring we are gonna do
(hello spring day in Brugge for instance) makes me EXCITED!

So, are you ready for acai bowls and AMAZINGNESS!!!

Okay, I'm done jumping to your face haha so lets just get into what is making me so excited for life right now.

RIGHT I´M HAPPY ABOUT:

All things spring (the flowers, sunshine, warm(ish) winds and the prospect of summer)
Being fit, healthy, happy and oh so beautiful ;)
          My family and friends
FOOD (guess who is having a big old bowl of pasta tonight, my fave)
My life is my creation and that anything is possible

And this song. Also this song. And one more song. And especially this song (on repeat)

Have a happy friday y´all

P.S All my SWEDISH readers, I have treat for you below.

Style guide - Autumn essentials

Social media, blogs and stores are stocked up on autumn gear. So what is you need to get this season? This is my second style guide on the blog, this time featuring autumn essentials.  I have collected below my go to pieces for this season. Autumn/Fall is a really tricky season to dress for as it partly transition from end of summer where temperatures can still be relatively warm yet you don't want to be taken by surprise when cooler winds take over, never mind the rain.

Therefore my go to for autumn 2015…..

#1 ankle boots that I could also wear to work as well as some cute over knee boots (yes, they are back!)

#2 scarfs, scarfs and some more scarfs in pretty neutral colors to match with my coat for the season

#3 I will need to get some sweaters, thin enough to be layer as I'm saving the thicker ones for the winter

#4 I would like to accessorize with some cute bracelets and necklaces, especially to wear together with blouses for work

#5 Talking about accessories, giving hats a go this season.

#6 Lastly my favorites, cute and comfortable loungewear for evenings in and days off

Top tip! Incorporating hair and makeup into your outfit means that you by no means have to go out on a big autumn splurge. I'm loving braids at the moment and I'm really keen on trying a bold lip as well.

I'm moving (back) to Brussels

It only hit me this week, I'm going to back to Brussels. I have been away for a while first to Ibiza and then home. 2015 has been quite a straining year with some growing pains and generally not feeling so great and I initially thought about staying at home and catching my breath this autumn. Then an opportunity came along with work so I'm jumping the gun and going back to Brussels.

I have always wanted to live in a french speaking country and so here is the opportunity. I want to embrace it as a challenge and try to make the most out of every day. In this time and age, we often tend to be too focused on whats next instead of being present in the now. (at least I do!!) Some exciting times ahead #twentysomethingliving

D'accord, bon voyage et bienvenue à Bruxelles!
